Assuming I did my math right, what do you think? I figure Seal at max will be useful early on because of Sharks, and I don't really need to explode sharks given their danger...although I guess if I swap explosion with booster I could snipe at poisoned sharks. Still, given explosion's speed, it's dangerous unless I can manage to seal completely first.

Overall this is a good poison mage build for sharks, which I assume is where you intend to train. Let me make a couple suggestions:
First, you may want to consider bringing that myst to 30. I used 28 myst for a long time and found it insufficient for going through a shark map (some of the poisoned ones still take 2-4 claws to kill). While 30 is still insufficient, it's better for obvious reasons. If you want to do this, i suggest adding the last two after you max seal, as seal points are probably gonna speed up your training more than 2 more myst points.
Second, you may want to consider maxing explosion at 28, especially if you're a traditional (non-EW) mage. At everywhere but duals, explosion is mainly a cleanup move, and it's not like 117 is all that much less than 120. Without an EW, this skill is really ridiculously slow and underpowered, and you won't be touching it in fourth job.
Overall, what i'm saying is: You may wanna take two out of explosion and onto myst.

I feel somewhat special.

If you're training at sharks, I think your build is brilliant.

I wouldn't recommend maxing seal cause of paralyze during 4th job , seal becomes rather obsolete ... so maxing booster would be better

That's what I wonder too.

About lvl 28 not enough to ohko, at lvl 8x you may need 2 more myst (not claws as 1 myst dmg = 2 claw dmg) to kill occasionally but not very often because monsters will be re-poisoned in myst. When your amp is max, you will only need one myst to kill and the myst will then poison any sharks that re-spawn in that platform (bonus; faster than using claw to kill and re-myst the platform).

Explosion could probably be kept at lvl 28 as it is usually casted at sniping spot anyway.

Even though F/P gets Paralyze, Seal is still useful in 4th Job.
Paralyze is a single target spell while Seal is a multi target spell.

And even if Seal weren't useful in 4th Job, it is way more than useful in 3rd Job.

You don't give up useful skills in 3rd Job just because you think something is better in 4th.
If he were to give up Seal, where would the points go? 8 more Booster and then what?
Partial Resistance? Poison Brace? Magic Armor?

Could not have said it better myself.

As for the build I like it a lot. I was thinking if I do give up cracking my pin for my I/L mage (which I doubt I will.) I was going to make a f/p mage and use a build similair to this once I hit 8x with only some minor adjustments but it would still end up to be the same build.

Your build looks very attractive. I was planning on getting booster and then explosion after 28 mist, but I am reconsidering now. I would like to know though, how practical is it to mist at sharks without seal?

And also, how does experience/drops/pot usage compare between grims and sharks? Because I wasn't thinking of maxing seal until my 10x's and I thought I'd get along fine in shark maps as long as I was careful (and maybe I wouldn't even go to sharks...) Comments?
