Hrm... For those of you who had their MapleStory.exe deleted by AVG, could you go into AVG's quarantine folder and check whether the file is there? It's possible that it automatically whisked the file in there just to be on the safe side.

You have to redownload Maple Story, or the .exe at your own discretion, I'm not posting a link though. You should have read my post thoroughly, I addressed this. =)

Ditto on that. v8.0 is the last version I used because of the s-l-o-w-n-e-s-s of it, thus my request for those who had the missing MapleStory.exe problem to check their quarantine area of the AVG program to see if it's actually there. I suppose "History" is where it is now?

Some other things for AVG users:

You have to add Maplestory in TWO PLACES in the AVG settings to tell it Maplestory is NOT a virus and to leave it alone.



The first settings change is the "Resident Shield" settings listed in the top message here. Resident Shield scans a program when you RUN it. Like when you start Maplestory.

The second settings change is under "PUP Exceptions" on the Advanced Settings page. "PUPs" are "Potentially Unwanted Programs" found when AVG does its DAILY scan of your entire computer. (You DO scan your computer every day, right..?)

You have to make BOTH changes or AVG will quarantine Maplestory the next time it scans.




Another thing is: If Windows tells you it can't find "Maplestory.exe", try this:

Open the "AVG User Interface" (Right click the AVG icon next to the clock in your task bar, click "Open AVG User Interface") and click the "History" menu then select "Virus Vault".

This is where AVG moves things it thinks are viruses. Look in the list for "Maplestory.exe". If Maplestory IS on the list, highlight it, then click "Restore" at the bottom. This will move Maplestory.exe BACK to where it belongs and will let you run the game without having to redownload anything.

Be sure you've made BOTH changes in the settings before you do this though, because if you don't, AVG will just move Maplestory back to the Virus Vault again.



Finally- you'll have to go back in and ADD "Maplestory.exe" to the "PUPs Exceptions" EVERY TIME there's a new patch. That's because part of the patch is to download a new Maplestory.exe, and AVG can tell it's different from the one you OK'd before. You have to tell it the NEW Maplestory.exe is OK too, or it will move the new one to the Virus Vault. AVG is DOING ITS JOB, protecting you and your computer.

Is this themida file in the nexon folder? Cuz i've looked at the files in the nx folder and couldn't find anything that was named "themida". What exactly does this do?
