Scroll Baiting?

A lot of people are telling me to scroll bait when I scroll equips, but I'm not too sure what they mean by scroll baiting? Halp?

Fake myth or legend or wtv that will make your scrolls work more, just scroll as you wish dont listen to those fake story

I'm not sure myself either, but I'd assume it's when you get crappy equips, and the one equip you WANT to be good. You scroll the crap stuff with crap scrolls, and when you have had enough fails to be comfortable with your actual equipment, you try scrolling that item.

At least, this is the technique that my friend has tried to prove to me. Honestly, I believe it's all bull. Either the scroll is gonna pass or fail based on Percentage, and no amount of "Pre-scrolling" can change that percentage.

I think scroll baiting is the same thing as dummy scrolling. There is a huge dummy scrolling thread here on SW.. Just search for it.

I never understood why it wouldn't work, though I never do it.
Flipping a coin would always have a 50/50 chance of heads or tails.
If you land on heads twice, wouldn't you theoretically have a higher percentage of getting tails on your next flip?
I don't scroll bait because its a hassle finding the equips and then paying 100k per scroll to bait with. I enjoy blowing the item if its not worthy :)

It doesn't work.
It's a method that people thought of where they make 9 10% fail and then the next one will work or something like that.

Once again, when it comes to flipping a coin, that is false. Your next flip is still 50% chance of getting heads and 50% chance of getting tails. What you described, someone correct me if I'm wrong, is the Gambler's Fallacy.

Think about it: getting Tails-Tails-Tails is only 1/8 chance.
But getting Tails-Tails-Heads is also 1/8 chance.
No matter what you got before, both outcomes have the same chance of happening.

that's like saying getting 1 heads in a row is 50% chance, but getting 1 million heads in a row is also 50% chance. there's 2 different types of probability, but it takes a whole course to learn probability and all so yea..

The chance of scrolling will always be the same, so scrolling crap eq before the real "scrolling" is a waste
